Incorporates Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy · Refund & Credit Policy · Privacy Policy · Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the www.princepseducation.com website, our online lesson platform and app, and the tutoring services we provide (together, the “Service”), operated by Princeps Tutoring FZ-LLC (“Princeps Education”, “we”, “us”, “our”), Compass Building, Al Hamra Industrial Zone-FZ, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

By accessing the Service, creating an account or booking lessons, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy, which form part of them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. These Terms include our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy (section 5) and our Refund & Credit Policy (section 6).

2. Definitions

  • “Student” – the individual receiving tuition.
  • “Parent/Guardian” – the legal parent or guardian of a Student under 18, who creates and manages the Student’s account, accepts these Terms on their behalf, and is responsible for all payments.
  • “Tutor” – the British-qualified teacher delivering lessons.
  • “Lead Educator” – the senior educator who oversees the Student’s academic plan, progress and quality of tuition.
  • “Lesson” – any scheduled tutoring session booked through the Service.
  • “Credit” – a balance held on your account that can be used to reschedule or rebook Lessons or pay for other Princeps Education services.

3. Accounts

Students under 18 use the Service only through an account created, linked to and supervised by a Parent/Guardian, who is the contracting party. You must provide information that is accurate, complete and current; failure to do so is a breach of these Terms and may result in termination of your account. The Service is designed for students aged 8 to 18.

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account. You must not share your login with any third party, and you must notify us immediately of any breach of security or unauthorised use of your account.

4. Lessons, Bookings and Payment

Lessons are confirmed at the time of booking. Payment for each Lesson is collected automatically 24 hours after the Lesson takes place, using your registered payment method (or an agreed billing arrangement). By prior agreement, payment may instead be made in advance for a full term. Advance payments are held as Credit on your account, and each Lesson is drawn from that Credit; the Credit and refund provisions of these terms apply. Fees, schedules and any package or recurring arrangements are agreed with you in writing before tuition begins. Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes, including VAT where it applies. Any available Credit on your account is applied before a new payment is requested.

If a Tutor is no longer able to continue with a Student, we will offer an alternative Tutor wherever possible. If no suitable alternative is available, or you choose not to accept the alternative offered, you will not be charged for any Lesson we cancel and cannot rearrange, and any amount already collected for an undelivered Lesson will be refunded in full.

We may from time to time offer promotional discounts, such as a discounted first Lesson. Promotional offers are made entirely at our discretion, may be limited to one per family, have no cash value, cannot be combined with other offers, and may be amended or withdrawn at any time.

5. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

A Lesson is confirmed once it has been booked into the schedule. The following terms apply to all confirmed Lessons:

  • Cancellations requested more than 24 hours before the Lesson start time: the Lesson fee is returned to your account as Credit for use against future Lessons or services.
  • Cancellations requested less than 24 hours before the Lesson start time are late cancellations and are not refundable as Credit. Where appropriate, the Tutor will assign catch-up work in place of the Lesson, or the Student may submit work before the scheduled start time for marking and feedback.
  • Reschedules requested less than 24 hours before the Lesson start time are treated as late cancellations: the full Lesson fee is still charged, and any replacement Lesson is charged separately.
  • Lessons booked within 24 hours of their start time are non-refundable, and any cancellation is treated as a late cancellation.
  • No-shows: if the Student has not joined the Lesson and we receive no notice of lateness within 30 minutes of the start time, the Lesson is treated as a late cancellation.
  • If a Tutor cancels a Lesson, it is rescheduled where possible or refunded in full. If a Lesson is delayed or shortened by the Tutor, the lost time is made up, either added to that Lesson or to a future one, or the difference is returned to your account as Credit.

Regular weekly Lessons continue as scheduled through public holidays, religious holidays and school breaks; to cancel or reschedule one, the same terms above apply.

Why upholding this policy matters

Our Tutors are professional, experienced teachers who dedicate their working hours to a stable schedule of students. They arrange their personal commitments – and often forgo other opportunities – to be consistently available for each family. When a Lesson is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, that time slot cannot be offered to another student, and a working hour is simply lost. After-school hours are especially limited, so every late cancellation also affects other families who may have needed that time. By upholding our 24-hour policy, we can guarantee the consistency and reliability that our students and families deserve.

6. Refund & Credit Policy

Eligible refunds are issued in accordance with the Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy above. All eligible refunds are issued as Credit, which can be used to reschedule or rebook a Lesson, applied toward any Princeps Education service, and used for any student linked to the same Parent/Guardian account.

  • Credit is applied to your account instantly. Credit is valid for 12 months from the date it is issued.
  • You may request that unused Credit be returned to your original payment method at any time. Refunds to the original card incur a 5% transaction fee, reflecting non-recoverable banking and processing charges, and typically appear within 3–10 working days depending on your bank.
  • If you have extenuating circumstances – such as illness, emergency or other exceptional situations – please contact us at contact@princedu.com to request a refund. We review these requests case by case and with understanding.

7. Lesson Recordings

Online Lessons are recorded and retained securely for up to 60 days for safeguarding, quality assurance and student revision purposes, as set out in our Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy and Privacy Policy. Families must not record, screenshot, screen-capture or share any part of a Lesson unless expressly authorised by us in writing.

8. Working With Our Tutors

Our Tutors and Lead Educators work with families exclusively through Princeps Education. You agree not to hire our Tutors privately, arrange lessons outside the Service, or pay Tutors directly; doing so may result in termination of your account and an introduction fee equivalent to the cost of 30 Lessons. All communication with Tutors must take place through the Service or channels we have authorised – please do not request or exchange personal contact details or communicate privately via WhatsApp, email, phone or social media without our written permission. These boundaries also form part of our safeguarding commitments.

9. Parent and Student Responsibilities

You agree to maintain respectful communication with Tutors and staff, ensure the Student has a safe and appropriately supervised learning environment for online Lessons, and inform us of any medical, behavioural or learning needs relevant to teaching so we can support the Student properly.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Princeps Education and its licensors. Learning materials provided during tuition may be used for the Student’s personal study only and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or commercially exploited.

11. Links to Other Websites

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not own or control. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, their content, privacy policies or practices, and we advise you to read the terms and privacy policy of every site you visit.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for breach of these Terms, misuse of the platform, attempts to engage Tutors outside Princeps Education, abusive behaviour towards staff or Tutors, failed payments, or safeguarding violations. Lessons already delivered remain payable on termination. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination – including ownership, disclaimers and limitations of liability – survive it. If you wish to close your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service or contact us. If your account is closed or terminated, any unused Credit is returned to your original payment method in line with section 6; where termination is our decision and not the result of fraud, the 5% transaction fee is waived.

13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

We are committed to excellent teaching, but we cannot guarantee specific academic outcomes, grades or admissions results, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Our total liability in connection with the Service is limited to the value of the affected Lesson(s), and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for disruptions caused by your device, software or internet connection. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in these Terms affects statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including power or internet outages, technical disruptions, government restrictions, war or natural disasters.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Princeps Education, its Tutors, directors and staff against claims, damages, losses, liabilities or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 15 days’ notice before the new terms take effect, via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after revisions take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and any dispute shall be resolved in the competent courts of the UAE. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of it. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with the policies they incorporate, constitute the entire agreement between us regarding the Service.
